Mooner - Ingkar (Official Music Video)

About this version

Some drum parts make sense on paper and still feel odd under your hands. This version is for closing that gap a bit faster.

Useful for

working on groove and feel

Useful for

cleaning up fills and transitions

Useful for

repeating the section before the section that usually goes wrong

A simple way in

A version for hearing the groove, fills, and transitions more clearly while keeping the shape of the original song intact.

Start with the tricky section, not the whole song. A few good repetitions usually tell you more than one rushed pass from top to bottom.

Once it feels settled, go back to the full arrangement and check whether it still holds together. That is usually where the real answer is.

Notes

Directed by Dewi Mariam Produced by Munra Films *Activate subtitle for lyric The video depicts an ambiguous figure covered in a blood red veil. This person can be seen exploring beautiful Indonesian nature, presumably lost, wandering around, tiring and even sinking into a pond at one point. At the end of video, this figure collides with a unearthly creature, leaving the figure in a frozen state. Ingkar simply means ‘disobey’ – it's a song that we made by observing complicated issues that surround us, politics, religion and race. To explain fully what the song is about would take a long time, detailing my thoughts about the situation we’re in here in Indonesia – but I think the video represents that feeling pretty well. Mooner update the heavy psych sounds of early 70’s Indonesia while staying true to the roots of the original scene. Featuring members of The Slave, The SIGIT, Sigmun and Sarasvati, Mooner are a supergroup of the Indonesian heavy/hard rock scene. Tabiat is Mooner’s first full length and it’s a monster, 12 tracks of heavy psych with strong influences of Indian Raga and Middle Eastern touches thrown into a stoner rock stew. This music video is to coincide worldwide release of Tabiat throught Outer Battery Records. Pressed on a beautiful ivory colored vinyl, Tabiat is an extremely limited release, with just a few hundred copies being made available outside of Indonesia.
